Dale Bradshaw (July 28, 1938 - )

For over 40 years Dale Bradshaw gave countless hours of his time and energy to the Winnipeg, Manitoba and Canadian basketball scene.

The former Manitoba High School Athletic Association Commissioner got his start in 1962 by coaching the Varsity Boy's team at Garden City Collegiate. After a successful run at Garden City, which included five trips to the Provincial Tournament with two "final - 4's", Bradshaw moved to Dakota Collegiate where he coached the Varsity Boy's teams from 1968 to 1982. They were nine-time final 4's, seven-time finalists and five-time "AAAA" Champions.

Bradshaw also coached the Nicollet Inn Senior Men from 1984-1986, and captured a Provincial title. From 1979-1994, Bradshaw coached Provincial Teams at Western and National Championships, medaling nine times.

From 1984-2001, Bradshaw consulted or coached with at least three high school teams per year. 1994 was a highlight season as he co-coached the Shaftesbury Varsity Boy's crew to the "AAAA" Provincial Championship.

Bradshaw is no stranger to the university or national scene. From 1972-1973 and again in 1982 he served as an Apprentice/Assistant Coach with the Canadian National Men's team. He also is a Past-President of the Manitoba Basketball Coaches Association, a Master Course Conductor for Basketball Canada as well as an NCCP level 1-3 basketball and theory course conductor.

An accomplished author, Bradshaw has written the MABA technical Program for Manitoba provincial teams and of the textbook series, Team Concepts in Basketball.

Bradshaw is also highly decorated. In 1982 and 1983 he was the Canadian Association of Coaches Bursary Winner. In 1983 Bradshaw won the Cloverleaf Basketball Referee's Award as well as Gold, Silver and Bronze Service Awards from the Manitoba Basketball Coaches Association. And in 1988 Bradshaw picked up the MBCA's Mike Spack Award for outstanding contributions to basketball over an extended period of time.

Bradshaw was inducted into the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998, the St. Vital Coaches Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Manitoba Highschool Sports Hall of Fame.
