As an all round athlete, Ollie Hynduik excelled in baseball, bowling and golf and was an avid curler. She took up baseball in 1945 and played for the St. Boniface Athletics, the St. Vital Tigerettes and the C.U.A.C. Blues. But it was the sport of bowling that would vault Hynduik into legend.

While in her late teens, Hynduik had to make a decision. At that time, she was the catcher for the Canadian Ukrainian Athletic Club (CUAC) senior ladies' fastball team but she opted to give up the sport of baseball in order to concentrate on bowling.

In over twenty years as a competitive bowler, Hynduik established a record that will probably never be equalled in bowling. From 1954-64, Hynduik won the City of Winnipeg's ladies' single championship on five occasions. During the period from 1953-62, she held the ladies' high average in Winnipeg for eight years and peaked in the 1958-59 season when she achieved a 256 average. She captured the National title in Ladies' Singles in 1955 and 1958.

In 1952, Hynduik reached the zenith of competitive bowling when she achieved a perfect game. She later spent ten years as a bowling professional at the Winnipeg Winter Club and coached a Winnipeg club to the ladies' team title when the World Five Pin Championships were held in Winnipeg in 1973. Ollie Hynduik's golf career was also significant, with numerous tournament victories on the local scene and culminated in the Provincial Championship in 1961. Hynduik received the Manitoba Order of the Buffalo in 1973 and was inducted into the Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Hall of Fame.
